July 30,2008 <br /> A meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> July 30,2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,Vice <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call h was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hallos,Gipson,and <br /> Stonecipher were present.Council Members Nielsen and Aflholter were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 23,2008 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Members Roberts and Hatice abstained <br /> from the vote. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that the Sound Transit Board vote that <br /> was taken Thursday reflected quite a few changes horn the original <br /> proposal.He Indicated itis note perfect proposal but he voted for it The <br /> changes provide:30%more bus service to Everett and of that 30%,15% <br /> is in the first two years;It also provides service to our job center in <br /> Southwest Everett as a part of that service;it provides rail to Lynnwood; <br /> and will provide a look at providing rail to Everett and Southwest Everett in <br /> the next phase. This proposal opens the door for connecting the <br /> employment centers with the population center. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Jim Iles,City Attomey,requested an executive session following citizen <br /> comments regarding a labor matter to last approximately ten minutes. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> The meeting recessed for an executive session end reconvened. <br /> 240 <br />
