August 13,2008 <br /> A meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> August 13,2008 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll cell It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Gipson,Nielsen,end <br /> Stonecipher were present. Coundl Members Hagae and Affholter were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 6,2008 Everett City Council meeting ware <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Roberts abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYO <br /> REPORT—EVERETT PERFORMING ART CENTER PLAZA/KEY <br /> BANK BUILDING <br /> Lanie McMullin,stall,gave a brief report including a history of the events <br /> relating to the Key Bank Building property/plaza and Kidstage.She stated <br /> that we are in the midst of completing the design phase of the program. <br /> Ryan Sass,staff,talked about the downtown parking plan and previewed <br /> recommendations by the city's consultant,regarding parking in the <br /> downtown.He gave this report In light of the fad that it has been <br /> expressed that this property should be sited as a parking garage.The <br /> consultant has reported back that this is nota desirable site for a parking <br /> garage. The consultant's final report will be forthcoming in a ovupte of <br /> weeks. <br /> The council members had questions pertaining to some of the <br /> consultant's recommendations,i.a centralized management system, <br /> increased parking enforcement,and ninety minute parking. <br /> Rob Hunt,Village Theater,gave a status report on Kidstage.He stated <br /> that it will be a wonderful addition to downtown. Village Theater has <br /> approved going forward with the lease of the Key Bank Building. <br /> 258 <br />
