He stated that the current <br /> garages are full and spoke In support of using the Key Bank Building site <br /> for a new parking garage. <br /> Desmond Skubi,1102 Hoyt Avenue,talked about parking/transportation <br /> alternatives and stated the need to invest in our youth. <br /> Howie Bargreen,2821 Rucker Avenue,expressed the need to cooperate <br /> with businesses and the need for more parking. <br /> Annie Lyman,929 Hoyt Avenue.spoke in support of saving the Key Bank <br /> Building as a historic building. <br /> Kyuy Hong,2802 Colby Avenue.spoke in favor of more perking. <br /> Brian Schuck,1631 Lombard Avenue,also spoke in support of more <br /> parking. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher,emphasized that the issues <br /> s of the Key <br /> r <br /> Bank Building end downtown parking are two separateIssues. It is <br /> important that the downtown be healthy. The plaza/Key Bank Building <br /> project will help to make the downtown more viable.The city has already <br /> made a commitment to the Village Theater and there have been many <br /> oppoduni0es for input previously. <br /> Moved by Council Member Stonecipher,seconded by Council <br /> Member Olson to authorize the Mayor to negotiate a lease with the <br /> Village Theater for the Key Bank Building. <br /> Council Member Roberts spoke in favor of addressing the parking issues <br /> on a routine basis. <br /> Council Member Olson stated that the city has had a vision for this <br /> property dating back to the 1990's.
