August13,2008 <br /> Council Member Roberts clarified that:a variance process doesn't apply if <br /> the underlying code doesn't provide for the variance process;and relative <br /> to the notice process,there is a notification process so that neighbors will <br /> be notified if a sign application comes forward. <br /> Bill Belshaw,2111 Rucker,brought forth that when you are trying to help <br /> with a particular request you have to be careful that you are not harming <br /> the rest of the community.There is a process to address this,the special <br /> use permit. <br /> Mike Dunn,Everett School District,stated that the proposed regulations <br /> are appropriate.He cautioned about adopting too many regulations. <br /> Marty Robinette,2311 Taylor Drive,spoke in support of the proposed <br /> ordinance. <br /> Sister Joann McCauley,St.Mary Magdalene School,spr:e in support of <br /> the ordinance.A nice clean tasteful communication sign is more attractive <br /> than one with letters falling off. <br /> Ann Adams,1910 49e Street SW,stated that reader boards area good <br /> means of communication. <br /> Barbara Fraser.2522 Rucker Avenue.said that there are enough <br /> safeguards built into this proposed ordinance. <br /> Bea Hansen,Snohomish,spoke about the importance of schools needing <br /> /.. to effectively communicate.She supported the ordinance. <br /> Maria Hornig.11030 goe Avenue SE,stated that this will Increase <br /> awareness of activities and will be a good community builder for the entire <br /> Council Member Nielsen stated that he appreciated the need for <br /> on but that this ordinance is not the answer and this imposes <br /> on the neighborhoods a burden that was beyond their expectation. <br /> Council Member Roberts explained that we are dealing with non profit <br /> organizations and their communication process.The safeguards that are <br /> 265 <br />
