Septembers,2008 <br /> COUNCIL.COMMENTS <br /> On this first day of school Council Member Afiholter wished all the <br /> students and teachers a great year. <br /> Council Member Gipson requested updates regarding Channel 21 <br /> scheduling end the possible displacement of sex offenders from their <br /> current residences within the city. <br /> Council Member Haaoe introduced an action Item regarding a request for <br /> additional eme for negotiation with the Touchstone Corporation. <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to authorize a thirty day extension to conclude negotiations <br /> with Touchstone Corporation for the purchase and redevelopment of <br /> the Allen Buick Property. <br /> Mike Palacios,city staff,reported that negotiations with Touchstone <br /> Corporation for the purchase and redevelopment of the Allen Buick <br /> Property have been postive end productive to date. One of the more <br /> challenging pieces to the agreement has been to define a process that <br /> would allow Touchstone the freedom and ability to design a project that <br /> fits the site while ensuring that the final building design and construction <br /> quality meets the city's expectations for the project. The original ninety <br /> day period that was provided will end en September 9e.Staff is seeking <br /> an additional thirty days to complete negotiations and finalize the <br /> proposed agreement. <br /> Council Member Hative reported that the Real Estate Committee has <br /> recommended approval. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Members Nielsen and Stonecipher who were excused. <br /> Marlon carried. <br /> 296 <br />
