September 10,2008 <br /> RESOLUTION—COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Ration to adopt Resolution No.6057 accepting the findings of the <br /> Thomas/Lane and Associates Feasibility and Impacts of Scheduled <br /> Commercial Air Service at Paine Field Study and support scheduled <br /> commercial air service at Paine Field. <br /> President Nielsen alerted everyone that by virtue of the time constraints <br /> today comments need to be limited. <br /> Pat McClain,Administration,introduced Ted Lane,author of the feasibility <br /> study relating to commercial air service at Paine Field. <br /> Ted Lane,Thomas/Lane and Associates,stated that he has reviewed the <br /> proposed resolution and it accurately represents the findings of the <br /> feasibility study presented July le. He gave a brief overview of the <br /> study.He concluded that commercial service at Paine Field is feasible,it <br /> Is warranted and it will benefit the local community <br /> The following people spoke regarding commercial air service at Paine <br /> Field: <br /> • Proponents:Louise Stanton-Masten,Everett Area Chamber <br /> of Commerce; Linda Johannes, Everett Mall; Mike <br /> Echelbarger,Matt Smith,Economic Development Council; <br /> Greg Tisdel,citizens group;and <br /> • Opponents: Victor Coupez,Elliott Point Neighbors;Greg <br /> Hauth,Save Our Community;Bill Zimmer,Straton Hills; <br /> Kevin Stoltz,Mukilteo resident and council member. <br />• President Nielsen apologized to others who signed up to speak and stated <br /> that in lieu of time constraints k is time to move to deliberations. <br /> The city council members and Mayor Stephenson spoke in support of the <br /> resolution and commercial air <br /> service at Paine Field citing the study's <br /> conclusion, the aerospace industry presence in cur area, FAA <br /> 305 <br />
