November 5,2008 <br /> BID AWARD—TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Affholter to authorize the award of the contract for Traffic Signal <br /> Improvements;at Broadway and Everett Avenue;T Avenue SE and <br /> Everett Mall Way;and]r Avenue SE and 80 Street SE;to the lowest <br /> responsive bidder,Travers Electric Inc.,Chehalis,WA,based upon <br /> their proposal and unit bid of unit prices extended for the estimated <br /> total of$587,503.50 as received at the bid opening held 2 p.m., <br /> October 21,2008. <br /> Council Member Gipson questioned if the city is meeting ADA standards <br /> and making any enhancements regarding persons with disabilities.Dave <br /> Davis and Dongho Chang,Public Works,explained that the city does <br /> meet the minimum ADA requirements.The city accommodates the needs <br /> of the community as best it can as funding allows. Certain requested <br /> accommodations have been implemented. <br /> Council Member Atiholter questioned what the minimum requirements <br /> ere? <br /> Dongho answered that we provide all the signal indications,push buttons <br /> where it is required for wheel chair access,curb ramps end countdown <br /> signal heads.When requested chirping and vibratory signals are installed <br /> at intersections. <br /> Roll was called with ell council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—COUNCIL BILL NO 0810-52 <br /> President Nielsen opened a public hearing regarding Council Bill No. <br /> 0810.52,a proposed ordinance levying the general taxes for the City of <br /> Everett for the fecal year commencing January t,2009,on all taxable <br /> property,both real and personal. <br /> 373 <br />
