January 14.2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,January 14,2009 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Hague presiding. Upon roll call k was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Affholter were present. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 7,2009 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> EMPLOYEE RECOGNIZED <br /> Police Chief Scharf recognized Kathy Sovems, his Administrative <br /> Assistant and a 24 year employee,who is retiring this week. He stated <br /> that she would be truly missed and thanked her for her service. <br /> OATH—POLICE OFFICER <br /> Police Chief Scharf introduced a new police officer,Gabriel Cimino. <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to concur with the appointment of Gabriel Cimino as police <br /> officer. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The city clerk administered his oath and Mayor Stephenson presented his <br /> badge. <br /> Mayor Stephenson thanked council members for their attendance at the <br /> Or.Madin Luther King Jr.events yesterday.He announced that the First <br /> United Methodist Church event has been rescheduled for January 25th. <br /> 10 <br />
