May20,2009 <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Olson reported on his attendance at the National League <br /> of Cities'Steering Committee meeting where they discussed economic <br /> recovery,investments In research and development,and retail economic <br /> development. <br /> Council Member Afrhotter,as Chair of the City Council's Transportation <br /> Committee,gave a brief history of the ciy's actions regarding the <br /> Providence Regional Medical Centers expansion and traffic flow. He <br /> remarked that the city council has referred requests from citizens to <br /> review the traffic circulation plan to the Transportation Committee. He <br /> stated that they addressed those policy concerns at their February 10 and <br /> May 12,2009 meetings and that he a satisfied with the overall <br /> transportation policy for the hospital's traffic plan and believes that there is <br /> no further need to revisit this policy issue again at the Transportation <br /> Committee. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles requested an executive session to discuss the sale of <br /> real estate and a litigation matter. The session is expected to last <br /> approximately 30 minutes with no announcement to follow. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Annie Lyman,Everett,questioned whether the City of Everett is working <br /> with the Everett School District regarding the in ased construction <br /> activity which will be generated during the 18 month remodel of Whittier <br /> Elementary School. <br /> Kathy Fitzpatrick,Everett,expressed concern regarding the overuse of the <br /> alley between Oakes and Lombard.She stated that a portion of the alley <br /> is privately owned and that there am signs at the end of the alley on 10 <br /> and 12 Streets that state°no through traffic." <br /> 128 <br />
