June 17,2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,June 17,2009 In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Hatloe presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hetloe,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,and Atfholter were present. Council Member Stonecipher was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 10,2009 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as panted. <br /> MAYOR <br /> UPDATE—NORTHWEST CITY ODOR <br /> James Nolan,Director of Compliance,Puget Sound Clean Air Agency,the <br /> local air pollution control district responsible for enforcing federal and state <br /> clean air laws,provided an overview of the steps the agency has taken to <br /> address the odor in the northwest area of the city. They are working alto <br /> the neighborhoods and asking people to call 1-800552-3065 when they <br /> smell the objectionable odor so agency staff can respond as soon as <br /> possible in order to identify the smell. An additional number will be <br /> provided to the community so they do not have to go through the <br /> answering service during off hours. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Council Member Gipson commented on the great Sorticniture event. It <br /> was well received andattendance was up. He also asked that the <br /> Mayor's office consider the re-naming of the Senior Center In honor of his <br /> father,Carl Gipson. <br /> 184 <br />
