June 17,2009 <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles requested an executive session at the close of the <br /> meeting regarding three lidgatbn matters.The session is expected to last <br /> approximately 30 minutes with no announcement to follow. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Steve Bertrand,Mukilteo,asked the city to provide assistance to the Save <br /> the Gulch Group to help preserve Japanese Gulch as a park. He <br /> provided a list of actions the City could take to assist the group. <br /> Audrey Danner, Mukilteo,spoke to the importance of preserving <br /> Japanese Gulch as a park and green space and that we need to ask fast <br /> as Latitude,the prospective buying company,is making the decision <br /> whether to develop the area on July 155. <br /> Donna Bertrand,Mukilteo,also spoke to save Japanese Gulch as a park <br /> and recreational area.She asked that the city council consider whether <br /> there Is a need for additional light industrial development in this economic <br /> time when so many businesses are already closing. <br /> Council Member Gipson requested en update as to what is happening <br /> with Japanese Gulch.Mayor Stephenson suggested that the update first <br /> be presented to the real estate committee end then to the city council. 11 <br /> • <br /> CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Nielsen to approve the following consent items: <br /> RESOLUTION-CLAIMS <br /> To adopt Resolution No.6154 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the city of Everett in the amount of <br /> 5931,224.54 for the period May 30,2009 through June 5,2009. <br /> 165 <br />
