August 5,2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,August 5,2009 In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Hatloe presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson;Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatice,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher,and AHholter were present <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. • <br /> Then' teeoF05ry July t' 7,09 Erer-ett 1,41 Iounel/rneehd9 <br /> MAYOR anfrnt/ee G,s prntrd. <br /> OATH <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to concur with the appointment of Lacey Gordon as police <br /> officer. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried, <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered her oath of office and Meyer <br /> Stephenson presented her with her badge. <br /> UPDATE—RENTAL <br /> David Hall, Deputy City Attorney, responded to Council Member <br /> Stoneciphers question at the July 29,2009 council meeting regarding why <br /> our existing Fire end Code Compliance processes are not sufficient to <br /> handle rental property Inspections. David stated that our current <br /> processes are complaint driven and do not allow the time necessary to do <br /> inspections rental properties and that the Fire Department does not <br /> have the authority to enter private residences without a warrant. He <br /> updated the council on the proposed ordinance concerning residential <br /> rental properties and stated that it is scheduled to be on the September 0, <br /> 2000 council agenda. <br /> 220 <br />
