October 7,2009 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,October 7,2009.in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Hatloe presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and Affhotter were present. Council Member Gipson was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the September 30,2009 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Roberts abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> APPOINTMENT—EVERETT HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> Mayor Stephenson requested the city council's concurrence regarding the <br /> appointment of John Mierke to the Everett Housing Authority. <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts,seconded by Council Member <br /> Stonecipher to concur with the appointment of John Mierke to <br /> Position No.2,Everett Housing Authority,fora five-year term <br /> beginning October 7,2009 and ending October 6,2014. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Gipson who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PROCLAMATION—SHOP EVERETT DAY <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed October 1,2009 as"Shop Everett Day". <br /> Lanie McMullin,Economic Development,accepted the proclamation and <br /> encouraged all to shop Everett and support local businesses. Linda <br /> Johannes,Everett Mall;Louise Stanton-Maston,Everett Area Chamber of <br /> Commerce;end Sue Stockland,Downtown Everett Business Association <br /> were also present. <br /> 285 <br />
