April 14,2010 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> p.m.,April 14,2010 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Roberts presiding. Upon roll call it vas found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson,Council Members Roberts,Moore,Hatton,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher,and Aftholter were present. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 7,2010 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as panted.Council Members Moore,Gipson and Stonecipher <br /> abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION—PATRIOTS DAY <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed April 19,2010 as Patriots Day and <br /> encouraged all residents to recognize the role that the American <br /> Revolution played in the history of our nation.John Ernest,Registrar of <br /> the Washington State Society of the Sona of the American Revolution <br /> accepted the proclamation. <br /> Mayor Stephenson thanked staff for the Arbor Day celebration at Bayside <br /> Neighborhood. He mentioned that he end Council Member Roberts <br /> planted a tree and enjoyed the event. <br /> He also shared that he took part in a program where he spent the night <br /> with the homeless this past Saturday night An analyse of that night <br /> indicated that there were some 700—800 people that were turned away <br /> from shelters and were on the streets that night.He reminded everyone <br /> that we should do everything we can to help them. <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> President Roberts reported that he joined Mayor Stephenson and Pat <br /> McClain,Governmental Affairs in attending a reception in Seattle for the <br /> Secretary of the Navy,Ray Mabus. <br /> 97 <br />
