April 28,2010 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 12:30 p.m.,April 28,2010 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall,President Roberts presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Moore,Sallee, <br /> Gipson,end Nielsen were present.Council Member Stonecipher arrived <br /> later.Council Member Affholter was excused. <br /> Council Member Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 21,2010 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Hatloe abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> EMS LEW <br /> Mayor Stephanson thanked the residents of Everett for supporting the <br /> EMS Levy. He also acknowledged that the fire department and many <br /> volunteers helped with the success. He recognized the co-chairs Larry <br /> Vognild and Gigi Burke and Treasurer,Scott Murphy,who put forth much <br /> time and effort. <br /> REPORT—WASHINGTON D.C.VISIT <br /> Mayor Stephenson reported that he and Pat McClain mel with various <br /> officials in Washington D.C.last week regarding the following topics:the <br /> tanker bid call;replacement of the USS Lincoln;replacement of frigates at <br /> Naval Station Everett;and being part of a first carbon neutral navy base. <br /> He stated that all these issues can have a significant impact on our <br /> community. <br /> NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK <br /> Dave Davis explained that each year the American Water Works <br /> Association celebrates National Drinking Water Week. Everett has a <br /> large source of pure water end is able to serve over 500,000 residents <br /> within Snohomish County. Our water filtration plant provides nearly 18 <br /> 112 <br />
