May 19,2010 <br /> committees,this becomes a committee of the whole.The"council briefing <br /> agenda"allows items to be brought'lanyard Batty to allow both public and <br /> ncil knowledge of the items and they will have a discussion associated <br /> with them.Tonight we have two public hearings which will be opened and <br /> kept open until the final action comes before the council.The second part <br /> is the"proposed action agenda".Council Member Roberts stated that he <br /> will go through the items briefly and make a recommendation as to <br /> whether they should be consent or action items. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comment <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> James Hawes.Attorney,Everett,spoke on behalf of Jon and Wendy <br /> Iseman who received a violation citation which required them to vacate <br /> the basement of a building wnich they own until it can be inspected on <br /> Monday. He expressed concem that the building provides housing to <br /> disabled and low income individuals. <br /> Deputy City Attorney Hall stated that he has been working with Mr.Hawes <br /> and the Iseman and will continue to do so. <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING—FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—LAND USE POLICIES <br /> Council Member Roberts opened a public hearing regarding a resolution <br /> reaffirming the importance of Land Use Policies telling for the <br /> preservation of industrial land in southwest Everett for future economic <br /> growth. <br /> Dave Koenig,Planning,stated that council has been provided with a staff <br /> report and other background information regarding this item.He gave a <br /> brief presentation which outlined the need to preserve industrial land in <br /> ]3] <br />
