August24,2011 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 12:30 p.m.,August 24,2011 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall,President Atfholter presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson and Council Members Roberts, Moore,Hatice, <br /> Gipson, Nielsen, and Affholter were present. Council Member <br /> Stonecipher was excused. <br /> Council Member Hatloe led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 17,2011 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Members Moore,Hatloe,and Gipson <br /> abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> NEW FIREFIGHTERS <br /> Ii <br /> Fire Chief Murrey Gordon introduced four new firefighters:Michael <br /> Aquino,Nick Askew,Amy Boos and Bronson Pearson. <br /> Council Member Gipson welcomed them. ISI <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that the Transportation Advisory <br /> Committee hada great discussion regarding integrating bicycles,cars and '.. <br /> pedestrians. <br /> Council Member Gipson asked about the status of his requests regarding <br /> the Casey Anthony legislation and extending the boundaries of the <br /> downtown business district.Debra Bryant,CAA,answered that the Casey <br /> Anthony legislation matter has been assigned to Government Affairs end <br /> nothing is expected until the next legislative session.She asked Council <br /> Member Gipson to meet with Allen Gi fen regarding downtown business <br /> district boundaries so that his ideas might be specifically addressed. <br /> 237 <br />
