• <br />ORDINANCE N00 3927. <br />AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1028.010, City Code of <br />the City of Everett, providing for compensation for overtime work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1: That Section 1028.010 of the City Code of <br />the City of Everett be amended to read as follows: <br />"10280010 How computed --When paid. All male city <br />employees covered by Civil Service, except Firemen and Policemen, <br />City Hall Janitorsp Water Control Station Operators, Basin Patrol- <br />men when working in water shed, and Head Works Operators, who <br />shall be directed to work by the head of their department or duly <br />authorized superior more than eight hours in any one day, or more <br />than forty hours in any calendar week, or who shall work any day <br />that is designated as a legal holiday in the State of Washington <br />except Sundays, shall be paid for such overtime work, or work on <br />such holiday, at an hourly rate based upon one and one-half times <br />his monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight, which <br />payment shall be in addition to his regular monthly payment. <br />All female City employees covered by Civil Service, <br />except any woman in the Police Department holding a position as a <br />Policewoman, who shall be directed to work by the head of their <br />d epartment or duly authorized supervisor more than seven hours <br />in any one day, shall be paid for the first hour of overtime work <br />at an hourly rate based upon one times her monthly salary divided <br />by one hundred forty-seven, which payment shall be in addition <br />to her regular monthly payment. <br />All female City employees covered by Civil Service, <br />except any woman in the Police Department holding a position as a <br />P olicewoman, who shall be directed to work by the head of their <br />d epartment more than eight hours in any one day, .nor more than <br />f orty hours in any one calendar week, or who shall work on any <br />d ay that is designated as a legal holiday in the State of Wash- <br />ington, except Sunday, shall be paid for such overtime work or <br />work on such holiday at an hourly rate based upon one and one- <br />h alf times her monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight, <br />which payment shall be in addition to her regular monthly payment. <br />The following Water Department employees, Water Control <br />Station Operators, Basin Patrolmen while working in the water <br />shed, and Head Works Operators, who shall be directed to work by <br />the head of their department or duly authorized supervisor more <br />than eight hours in any one day or more than forty-eight hours <br />in any calendar week, or who shall work on any day that is <br />d esignated as a legal holiday in the State of Washington, except <br />Sundays, shall be paid for such overtime work, on such holiday, <br />at an hourly rate based upon one and one-half times his monthly <br />salary divided by one hundred sixty --eight, which payment shall be <br />in addition to his regular monthly payment. <br />Any fireman who shall be required to work, as provided <br />by the or nances of the City of Everett, on a 24 hour shift basis <br />and any employee of the Fire Department who shall be required to <br />work on an eight hour shift basis, who shall be required, at the <br />
