Project: Watermain Replacement"U" Change Order No.1 Change Order Effective Date: 11-3-2020 CONTRACTOR c7ifire111- By Date: Nov 6, 2020 Jeffrey M. Kanyer President Exhibit A—Description of Changed Work This change order modifies one bid item of the Contract as follows: Bid Item#5-Traffic Control Labor.Modify bid item#5 for Traffic Control Labor by adding 735 hours of Traffic Control Labor, at$55.00 per hour resulting in a Contract price increase of$40,425.00. JUSTIFICATION: Bid Item#5-Traffic Control Labor. The Contract time allowed 120 working days to bring the project to Physical Completion. The bid proposal allowed only 1,000 hours of Traffic Control Labor, which only represents 1,000/120=8.33 hours of Traffic Control Labor per day. When a contractor works on City streets the work zone requires one flagger @ each end of the work zone. This bid item overran quantity by 956 hours of Traffic Control Labor. For the purposes of appropriating enough dollars to complete final payment to Road Construction Northwest on this project, change order#1 is only seeking dollars on 735 hours of Traffic Control Labor. CONTRACT TIME: Twenty-five(25)additional working days are being added to Contract Time as a result of Everett forces not being able to make watermain connections as a result of the required social distancing requirements at that time frame, due to Covid-19 pandemic. The inability of City forces to make the mainline connections in the north site area forced the Contractor to backfill those excavations currently ready for connections,de-mob from the north site area,move to the south site area and complete Work there. Once Covid-19 restrictions allowed City forces to make mainline connections in the south site area,the Contractor completed work there,then re-mob back to the north site area to finish Work on the project.
