CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> If Engineer determines the permitted closure hours adversely affect traffic, the <br /> Engineer may adjust the hours accordingly. The Engineer will notify the Contractor <br /> in writing of any change in the closure hours. <br /> No lane closures will be allowed on a holiday or holiday weekend, or after 12:00 <br /> p.m. on a day prior to a holiday or holiday weekend. A holiday weekend is defined <br /> as having a holiday fall on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. <br /> Contractor shall provide a uniformed off-duty Police Officer to control traffic in critical <br /> situations as determined by the Engineer. The uniformed officer shall be paid under <br /> contract item "Traffic Control — Off-Duty Police Officer." <br /> Contractor shall notify the local Fire, Police and Engineering Departments before <br /> the beginning of each phase of construction so that these agencies may re-route <br /> their emergency vehicles around the construction zone. The non-emergency phone <br /> number for Everett Police is 258-2484, for Fire Dispatch is 257-8757, and for Public <br /> Works Engineering is 257-8800. <br /> Contractor shall notify City of Everett Transit at 425-257-8984 and Community <br /> Transit at 425-348-7100 of all street closures or delays at least 24 hours in advance <br /> to enable rerouting of buses. <br /> Contractor shall notify the property owners at least 72 hours in advance to enable them <br /> to remove vehicles parked in the vicinity of Work. Towing vehicles shall be the <br /> responsibility of the Contractor and no additional payment will be made. <br /> Further supplement 1-07.23(1) by adding the following: <br /> 1-07.23(1)A General Requirements Traffic <br /> (******) <br /> The following general requirements apply to all Work on the Project: <br /> Prepare and submit to Engineer a Traffic Control Plan in accordance with 1- <br /> 10.2(2) TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS. <br /> Refer to 1-08.4(2) SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION CONSTRAINTS regarding <br /> construction constraints resulting from traffic control. <br /> Notify all affected property owners prior to commencing the barricading of <br /> streets, sidewalks and driveways. <br /> All business driveways shall remain open except as necessary to permit curing <br /> of construction materials or for short periods of time as required for <br /> excavations. However, at least one driveway per business shall remain open <br /> to vehicular traffic at all times unless otherwise approved by the Engineer and <br /> affected property owner in writing. <br /> Signs and barricades shall be supplemented by lanterns or flasher units during <br /> the hours of darkness. <br /> Drivers of motor vehicles used in connection with the construction shall obey <br /> traffic rules posted for such location in the same manner and under the same <br /> restrictions as provided for the drivers of private vehicles. <br /> Conduct the Work, at all-time throughout the project, in such a manner as will <br /> obstruct and inconvenience vehicular and pedestrian traffic as little as possible. <br /> Keep the streets, sidewalks and private driveways open except for the brief <br /> periods when actual Work is being done. <br /> No lane closures will be permitted between 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., unless <br /> specifically approved by the Engineer. <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation <br /> WO No—UP3703 Division 1 —GENERAL REQUIREMENTS September 2020 <br /> SP-89 <br />
