CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> • <br /> This Work applies to street pavement patching and street reconstruction after completion <br /> of utility work. Grading for street reconstruction shall conform to COE Standard Drawing <br /> No. 302, unless otherwise noted on the Plans. Grading for pavement patching shall <br /> conform to COE Standard Drawing No. 326, unless otherwise noted on the Plans. <br /> 2-03.2 Vacant <br /> Delete 2-03.2 and substitute the following: <br /> 2.03.2 Materials <br /> Materials shall meet the requirements of the following: <br /> Foundation Material Class A or B 9-03.17 Standard Specifications <br /> Gravel Borrow 9-03.14(1) Standard Specifications <br /> 2-03.3 Construction Requirements <br /> Supplement 2-03.3 by adding the following: <br /> Blasting is not allowed within the City limits of Everett. <br /> Use suitable excavated material for roadway embankments. Dispose of surplus <br /> excavated material or unsuitable material in accordance with 2-03.3(7). <br /> Engineer will not approve payment for unauthorized excavation or embankment, or both, <br /> beyond the limits indicated on the Plans. Return areas of unauthorized excavation or <br /> embankment, or both, to their original conditions or better at the Contractor's expense. <br /> Fine grading in fill or backfill areas shall begin within the top six inches of subgrade. <br /> Final grading shall produce a uniform surface within established tolerances and without <br /> abrupt changes in grade. <br /> Construction requirements for pavement patching authorized by Engineer outside of <br /> Project limits shall be in accordance with the Section 5-04 and City Standard Drawing <br /> No. 326 for existing asphalt concrete over prepared grade. <br /> Provide temporary drainage to keep the subgrade free from standing water. <br /> Ensure the top six inches of subgrade is free from rocks or cemented lumps larger than <br /> 2-1/2 inches in greatest dimension. <br /> Excavate for curbs and gutters by accurately cutting to the cross-sections, grades, and <br /> elevations shown. Take care not to excavate below the specified grades. Maintain all <br /> excavations free from accumulation of detrimental quantities of leaves, brush, sticks, <br /> trash, and other debris. <br /> 2-03.3(2) Rock Cuts <br /> Delete entire subsection "Controlled Blasting." <br /> 2-03.3(3) Excavation Below Subgrade <br /> Supplement 2-03.3(3) by adding the following: <br /> Proof Rolling. Proof roll subgrade under the roadway with a fully loaded tandem <br /> truck following trench backfilling and grading to subgrade to identify soft or loose <br /> areas in the subgrade. In areas where the subgrade does not stand up to the proof <br /> roll, over excavate the subgrade and replace with imported Foundation Material <br /> Class A or B or Gravel Borrow, as determined by the Engineer, to bring the subgrade <br /> up to the proper compaction and grade. Compact backfill material in accordance <br /> with 2-03.3(3). <br /> 2-03.3(7) Disposal of Surplus Material <br /> 2-03.3(7)C Contractor-Provided Disposal Site <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 2-03.3(7)C and substitute the following: <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation Division 2—EARTHWORK September 2020 <br /> WO No. -UP3703 SP—137 <br />
