CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> DIVISION 5 — SURFACE TREATMENTS AND PAVEMENTS <br /> 5-04 HOT MIX ASPHALT <br /> 5-04.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 5-04.3(3) Hot Mix Asphalt Pavers <br /> Section 5-04.3(3)A is deleted and replaced with the following: <br /> 5-04.3(3)A Material Transfer Device /Vehicle <br /> A material transfer device or vehicle (MTD/V) is not required. <br /> 5-04.3(7) Preparation of Aggregates <br /> Delete 5-04.3(7)A and substitute the following: <br /> 5-04.3(7)A Mix Design <br /> 5-04.3(7)A1 General <br /> Prior to the production of HMA, the Contractor shall determine a design <br /> aggregate structure and asphalt binder content in accordance with WSDOT <br /> Standard Operating Procedure 732. Once the design aggregate structure and <br /> asphalt binder content have been determined, the Contractor shall submit the <br /> HMA mix design on DOT form Division B 350-042 demonstrating the design <br /> meets the requirements of Sections 9-03.8(2) and 9-03.8(6). HMA accepted <br /> by nonstatistical evaluation requires a mix design verification. For HMA <br /> accepted by commercial evaluation only the first page of DOT form 350-042 <br /> and the percent of asphalt binder is required. In no case shall the paving begin <br /> before the determination of anti-strip requirements has been made. Anti-strip <br /> 1 requirements will be determined by: <br /> a. Testing by WSDOT in accordance with TM 718. <br /> b. Testing by Contractor in accordance with WSDOT TM 718. <br /> c. Historical aggregate source anti-strip use provided by WDOT. <br /> The mix design will be the initial Job Mix Formula (JMF) for the HMA being <br /> produced. Any additional adjustments to the JMF will require the approval of <br /> the Project Engineer and may be made per Section 9-03.8(7). <br /> 5-04.3(7)A2 Nonstatistical and Commercial Evaluation <br /> Mix designs for HMA accepted by Nonstatistical or Commercial evaluation <br /> shall; <br /> 1. Be submitted to the Project Engineer on WSDOT Form 350-042 <br /> 2. Have the aggregate structure and asphalt binder content <br /> determined in accordance with WSDOT Standard Operating <br /> Procedure 732 and meet the requirements of Sections 9-03.8(2) <br /> and 9-03.8(6). <br /> 3. Have anti-strip requirements, if any, for the proposed mix design <br /> determined in accordance with WSDOT Test Method T 718 or <br /> based on historic anti-strip and aggregate source compatibility <br /> from WSDOT lab testing.Anti-strip evaluation of HMA mix designs <br /> utilized that include RAP will be completed without the inclusion of <br /> the RAP. <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation September 2020 <br /> WO No.—UP3703 Division 5—SURFACE TREATMENTS AND PAVEMENTS <br /> SP- 145 <br />
