CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1. PRE-APPROVED RATE: Place 3 inches of Medium Compost till into 5 <br /> inches of soil (a total amended depth of about 9.5 inches, for a settled <br /> depth of 8 inches). <br /> 2. CALCULATED RATE: Place calculated amount of Medium Compost or <br /> approved organic material and rototill into depth of soil needed to achieve <br /> 8 inches of settled soil at 10% organic content. <br /> Rake beds to smooth and remove surface rocks larger than 2 inches diameter. <br /> Mulch planting beds with 2 inches of Compost or Bark or Wood Chip Mulch. <br /> Turf Areas <br /> 1. PRE-APPROVED RATE: Place 3 inches of composted material and rototill <br /> into 5 inches of soil (a total amended depth of about 9.5 inches, for a <br /> settled depth of 8 inches). <br /> 2. CALCULATED RATE: Place calculated amount of composted material or <br /> approved organic material and rototill into depth of soil needed to achieve <br /> 8 inches of settled soil at 10% organic content. <br /> Computations of compost or topsoil volumes to be imported (and/or site soil to be <br /> stockpiled) to meet "pre-approved" amendment rates; or calculations by a qualified <br /> professional to meet organic content requirements if using custom calculated rates. <br /> Qualified professionals include certified Agronomists, Soil Scientists or Crop <br /> Advisors; and licensed Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers or Geologists. <br /> Amendment materials, including compost, will not be measured and paid for under <br /> the bid item "Post Construction Soil Quality and Depth" and will not be included in <br /> the measurement for any other items included in the bid form. <br /> Calculated amendment rates may be met through use of composted materials as <br /> defined above; or other organic materials amended to meet a carbon to nitrogen <br /> ratio below 25:1 and meeting the contaminant standards for"composted materials" <br /> in WAC 173-350-section 220. <br /> 8-02.3(18)C Imported Topsoil <br /> Provide Topsoil Type A with a minimum of 10% organic matter in planting areas or <br /> a minimum of 5% organic matter in turf areas. <br /> Topsoil used to comply with the requirements of Post Construction Soil Quality and <br /> Depth will not be counted in the measurement of Topsoil Type A when included in <br /> the bid form. Topsoil used to address these requirements will be measured and paid <br /> for under the bid item "Post Construction Soil Quality and Depth" <br /> Topsoil shall be placed in a minimum of two lifts with the bottom lift tilled or otherwise <br /> completely mixed with at least two inches of the underlying soil. <br /> Mulch planting beds with 2 inches of organic mulch <br /> 8-02.3(18)D Design Verification <br /> Submit the following for review and approval prior to beginning soil amendment or <br /> placement: <br /> Pre-approved Amendment Rates <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation September 2020 <br /> WO No. - UP3703 Division 8—MISC CONSTRUCTION <br /> SP-169 <br />
