CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1. Documentation that compost material meets the organic content, carbon to <br /> nitrogen ratio, and pH requirements identified in this section and in 9- <br /> 14.4(8). <br /> 2. Compost source and verification that the composter is a Washington <br /> Department of Ecology permitted compost facility. <br /> Calculated Amendment Rate <br /> 1. Native soil or imported topsoil soil test including bulk modulus and pH, <br /> from an accredited soil testing laboratory. <br /> 2. Organic Content of the proposed amendment and native or import soil <br /> material, based on the loss on ignition test (ASTM D2974). <br /> 3. Documentation that compost material meets the organic content, carbon to <br /> nitrogen ratio, and pH requirements identified in this section and in 9- <br /> 14.4(8). <br /> 4. Proposed amendment rates with supporting calculations <br /> 5. Test results documenting that the amended soils meet the organic content, <br /> pH and soil depth <br /> A minimum of one sample per 5000 square feet or installation shall be provided. <br /> 8-02.3(18)E Placement and Protection <br /> All soil areas disturbed or compacted during construction, and not covered by <br /> buildings or pavement, must meet the post construction soil quality and depth, <br /> except: <br /> 1. On slopes greater than 33% <br /> 2. Within 3 feet of utility infrastructure such as poles, vaults, meters, etc. <br /> 3. When otherwise indicated in the Contract Documents <br /> Existing topsoil to remain must be protected from compaction and erosion <br /> throughout the duration of construction. Provide barrier fencing or other means of <br /> restricting vehicle access to areas to be protected. <br /> Establish soil quality and depth toward the end of construction. Once established, <br /> protect from compaction, such as from large machinery use, and from erosion. <br /> Plant vegetation and mulch the amended soil area after installation. <br /> Unless otherwise directed by the Engineer leave plant debris or its equivalent on <br /> the soil surface to replenish organic matter. <br /> Refer to Building Soil-Guidelines and Resources for Implementing Soil Quality and <br /> Depth BMPT5.13, BuildingSoil.org, most current edition for additional resources. <br /> 8-02.4 Measurement <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 8-02.4 and substitute the following: <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B - Bid Item Descriptions and Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND <br /> PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 8-02.5 Payment <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 8-02.5 and substitute the following: <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation September 2020 <br /> WO No. -UP3703 Division 8—MISC CONSTRUCTION <br /> SP-170 <br />
