Forest Stewards are <br /> recruited,trained, and then assume responsibility for specific areas. Comprehensive support and <br /> growth of the Forest Stewards helps ensure the success of the Green Everett Partnership. <br /> Task One Deliverables <br /> 1) Forterra will coordinate and implement rolling, as-needed Forest Steward Orientations <br /> open to the public to attract new potential volunteers, Forest Stewards, and Support <br /> Stewards. This includes correspond with potential stewards,presentation and training. In <br /> the case of COVID-19 restrictions, interested stewards will be on-boarded remotely, <br /> followed by a one-on-one practical session at the discretion of Forterra and the City of <br /> Everett and dependent on state and local orders. <br /> 2) Forterra will serve as the main contact for current and new Forest Stewards. Respond to <br /> questions, address problems and provide general support to Forest Stewards. Collect and <br /> track event requests. Coordinate with event leader and City staff. City will also provide <br /> insight for site stewardship and trajectory. <br /> 3) Forterra will coordinate and host one CEDAR training for Forest Stewards. In the case of <br /> COVID-19 restrictions,this training will be held remotely. <br /> 4) Forterra will coordinate a Forest Steward and staff appreciation event or gesture to <br /> celebrate achievements. <br /> 5) Forterra will organize a minimum of one site visit per year for each active park with <br /> current and new Forest Stewards, in coordination with Everett Parks (a minimum of 7 <br /> total visits). Take notes and follow up on action items. Active parks include: 1) Thornton <br /> A. Sullivan, 2) Forest Park, 3)Howarth Park, 4)Hannabrook Park, 5) S. Everett Forest <br /> Preserve, 6)Rotary Park, and 7) Johnston Kelly Park. <br /> 6) Forterra will develop and staff a minimum of 6 events, including Forest Steward work <br /> parties and customized events for groups such as corporations and schools. In the case of <br /> COVID-19 restrictions and the inability to hold volunteer work parties,this may include <br /> staff working alone or with stewards to maintain restoration sites.Any field work will <br /> follow Forterra's COVID-19 volunteer and field work protocols and will be at the <br /> discretion of Forterra and the City of Everett. <br />
