DocuSign Envelope ID:6BA4F4C9-8Al2-4E2C-9AA5-997570A8BE8D
Task Two: Volunteer Recruitment and Retention
Volunteer recruitment and retention maintains a Green Everett Partnership presence in
the community, as well as increases and enhances the visibility its brand. As a program
dependent on volunteers to achieve its goals, the Partnership must have consistent
outreach in many forms to access potential partners and keep them active.
Task Two Deliverables
1) Forterra will host and promote one Green Everett Day event(anticipating attendance of
approximately 125 volunteers). This includes volunteer recruitment and outreach,
coordinating sponsorships, organizing forest stewards, and event management. The City
will create a poster, collaborate with Forterra and forest stewards on a planting plan,
source and deliver plants and other materials to be used at the event in a timely manner,
provide crew support to help prep the site, and will provide staff support during the event.
In the event of COVID-19 restrictions, this event may need to be broken up into smaller
events, scaled down, or cancelled. Additional staff may be used if hosting several smaller
events. Holding volunteer events will follow state and local orders, and be at the
discretion of Forterra and the City of Everett.
2) Forterra will develop or update monthly fliers and outreach materials and distribute to
Forest Stewards
3) Forterra promote The Green Everett Partnership at 4 outreach events (e.g. local
college/high school career fairs, Sorticulture, and farmer's market, etc.). In the event of
COVID-19 restrictions, GEP will be promoted at online events and presentations.
4) Forterra will present to at least two community groups or local schools to recruit Forest
Stewards and volunteers, with a focus on those near priority parks. In the event of
COVID-19 restrictions, GEP will seek out opportunities to present to community groups
remotely and will continue to do online promotion.
5) Forterra will sustain existing relationships by coordinating joint work party/training event
(events as part of Task 1.6)and develop at least 2 new relationships with partner
organizations, local businesses, or schools that results in active participation or promotion
of the Green Everett Partnership (e.g. YMCA, Campfire, WSU Everett Campus, schools,
and other non-governmental organizations.) In the event of COVID-19 restrictions, the
holding of joint work parties/trainings may not be feasible and will be up to the discretion
of Forterra, the City of Everett, and State and local orders.
