The parking structure would be six levels, with a lower floor elevation varying from approximately 204.5 to 216 feet. We understand that maximum interior and exterior column loads for the parking garage are estimated at 1500 and 750 kips, respectively. It is anticipated that column loads for the office building will range up to about 500 to 600 kips. The site is presently used as an asphalt-paved parking area. Existing ground surface elevations in the proposed building sites vary from approximately 218 feet to 224 feet. The parking lot generally slopes down to the east. The east property line is bordered by a retaining wall on the order of 4 to 6 feet high. Numerous existing utilities are present on the site. The purpose of this study was to establish general subsurface conditions at the site from which conclusions and recommendations for foundation design and construction for the project could be formulated. The scope of work consisted of field explorations, review of previous field explorations by others, geotechnical engineering analyses and report preparation. In the event of any changes in the nature, design, or location of the structures, the conclusions and recommendations contained in this report should be reviewed and modified, as necessary, to reflect the changes. This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of Everett General Hospital and Medical Center, and their design consultants for this project, for specific application to this project in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical engineering practice. 1 3.0 SITE CONDITIONS 1 The site conditions were evaluated for this study in March 1988. Subsurface conditions are described below, while the exploration procedures and interpretive logs of the explorations are presented in Appendix A.
