This field work is being completed to support the Master Planning process
required by the Parks Strategic Plan.
The National Park Service (NPS) formally approved the development of the southern 3.5 acre site for
passive recreational use. The approval by NPS followed a required process under the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) including a public comment period and environmental assessment.
These actions led to City Council approval of the rezoning of the property for Park use in January 201 2.
A Master Plan is required to be completed prior to the installation of park elements on undeveloped
property. We are now proceeding with the Master Plan process and design of the recreational trails
within the 3.5 acre parcel.
The issues you addressed that involve planning, development, and management of the site are all issues
to be discussed in our public process as we develop the Master Plan for the site.
I look forward to your participation in the Master Planning process and hope you can attend future
public meetings. Your comments, as well as this response, will be included in the Master Plan
documents. Please continue to call or email me with any questions about the project.
Thanks,
Bob Hillmann, LG, LHG
Project Coordinator
City of Everett
Sent: Email#5 4/16/2015 9:02 AM
Steve,
I spoke with Julie yesterday afternoon and mentioned we would send copies of the Draft Master Plan
presentation boards that were displayed during the public meeting.
