04".
South Everett Forest Preserve, Final Master Plan
September, 2015 !£CTQN
Bob Hillmann
Project Coordinator
City of Everett
Received: email#6 4/16/2015
Robert—
Thank you for passing this information along. I will also distribute it to others in the neighborhood. Initial
comment is that we are happy the North side loop is further away from the fence line.
This does not discuss what foliage will be removed. Specifically, if the trees will be "limbed"to a certain
height?
Cheers,
Steve
Sent: Email#7 4/24/2015
Steve,
Thank you for your comments on the draft Master Plan. Work on the plans and report is being done by
Perteet Engineering with support from Forterra who is working on a
park-wide urban forest restoration and stewardship project. Both groups have extensive experience
with urban forest planning and restoration and wetland science and management.
The trail alignment shown on the draft Master Plan was located along existing social trails or where
there would be minimal disturbance to the natural vegetation.
There will be a need to limb up trees along the trail to allow for unobstructed travel. Also, invasive
species (blackberries) will be removed near the entrance to the trail head. Perteet and Forterra are
working on a proposed plant plan that will help restore areas where vegetation has been degraded by
past activities or where invasive species are removed in the future. Prior to the final Master Plan, there
may be additional vegetation management requirements by the City's Planning Department.
Within the next month approximately 5 leaning alders will be removed near the planned entrance to the
trail. These trees are potential hazards and their removal has been discussed and approved by the
adjacent property owners.
Thanks,
Bob Hillmann
Project Coordinator
City of Everett
Appendix A—Page 6
