The Watershed Company■ EAIBlumen
June 2012
4.10 Cultural Resources
A cultural resource assessment was conducted for the Replacement Site by
Cultural Resources Consultants,Inc(CRC). Methods that were utilized as part of
the cultural resources assessment included background research and field
investigations. Background research was conducted through the following
sources:
• Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic
Preservation(DAHP)—Washington Information System for
Architectural and Archaeological Records Data(WISAARD);
• Websoil Survey(USDA NRCS 2012);and,
• Library research of various ethnographic, archaeological and historic
references
A field investigation of the Replacement Site was conducted on March 9,2012,
and included walking transects across the entire site area, notes, and
photographs.
4.10.1 Conversion Site
Sullivan Park
Sullivan Park does not contain any known cultural resources and no known
cultural resource investigations have been conducted at the park.
Background research at the DAHP WISAARD website indicates that Sullivan
Park and the site vicinity do not contain any structures that are listed on local,
state or national historic preservation registers. Historic properties inventory
surveys have been conducted for two structures (a storage/warehouse building
and former single family residence)located in Sullivan Park;however,no
determination was made as to whether these structures would be eligible for
listing on a historic register as they are outside the Area of Potential Affect.
Site Conditions Prior to Conversion
Prior to the development of the fire station and roadway, the Conversion Site
consisted of forest and other vegetated areas and contained no structures that
would be listed on historic preservation registers. SEPA review for the prior
conversion of the fire station did not identify any recorded or known cultural
resources on the site(City of Everett 1992) (Appendix B).
Existing Site Conditions
The Conversion Site does not contain any known cultural resources or structures
that are listed on local,State or national historic registers.
