•
•
• KLE/NPELOER
\. / eesnwoeN
•
3 FLOOR FLATNESS / LEVELNESS TESTING
•
•
3.1 GENERAL COMMENTS
•
•• Floor Flatness (FF) and Floor Levelness (FL) testing was performed on 12 March and 17 March
• 2020 to evaluate the characteristic Face Floor Profile numbers for the warehouse Slab-on-
• Grade floor. Testing was performed in accordance with ASTM E1155 by AAR Testing (working
• under subcontract to Kleinfelder) using an Axiom 1155 Floor Profiler.
• 3.2 APPLICABLE STANDARDS & SPECIFICATIONS
•
•
• The 2020 Design Criteria and Outline Specifications for the Development of AMZL Market
• Refurbishment (MR) Delivery Station (Version 1.4) requires that slab-on-grade floors shall have
• minimum overall flatness/levelness of FF50, FL35, with a minimum local of FF35, FL24, in
• accordance with ASTM E1155.
•
• We understand that a portion of the existing warehouse will be used for robotics, and the site
layout and robotics floor area have not been finalized. Once this area is determined, we
• anticipate performing additional evaluations per Amazon Robotics Floor, Mezzanine, and
• Environment Requirements (Rev 05). These include additional minimum functional floor profile
• requirements based on the specific robotics system being utilized, and typically involving a 3D
• floor scan. We understand that the DWS5 warehouse will utilize H-System (J-Pods) robotics on
Hercules drives. Additional requirements include Flatness, Levelness, and Curvature
• specifications, as well as Surface Roughness, Gloss, and Friction.
•
• RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
• Floor profile (Flatness/ Levelness) testing was broken up into two separate zones, a south zone
(Surface 1) and a north zone (Surface 2) as illustrated in the MR Floor Flatness Inspection
• Reports presented in Appendix D. The findings of the floor profile testing are summarized in
• Table 2, below. Based on the AMZL MR slab-on-grade requirements and the results of initial
• floor profile testing, the current warehouse floor does not meet the FF and FL requirements.
•
•
• 20203884.001A/SEA20R110164 Page 9 of 28 June 1, 2020
©2020 Kleinfelder
