Subsurface Exploration, Geologic Hazard,and
Snohomish County YMCA Geotechnical Engineering Report
Everett, Washington Geologic Hazards and Mitigations
should be collected as close as possible to the source to minimize silt entrainment that could
require treatment or detention prior to discharge. Timely implementation of permanent
drainage control measures should also be a part of the project plans, and will help reduce
erosion and generation of silty surface water onsite.
Once infiltration facilities are constructed, the contractor must provide temporary protection
of the facility subgrade to keep the subgrade free of water and fine-grained sediments.
Uncontrolled runoff into the infiltration facility constitutes failure of the subgrade, requiring
removal of all backfill materials and contaminated subgrade, and replacement with clean
backfill materials. The infiltration facility must be kept isolated from influent flows until after
the site has been stabilized, so that only clean water is introduced into the infiltration facility.
February 26,2018 ASSOCIATED EARTH SCIENCES,INC.
AWR/ms-170671E001-2-Projects120170671‘KE\WP Page 9
