j PUBLIC WORKS <br /> NEW COMMERCIAL, ADDITIONS, AND MULTI-FAMILY <br /> CONSTRUCTION PERMIT SUBMITTAL CHECKLIST <br /> PERMIT SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS: <br /> 1. Land use reviews (SEPA, etc.) if required, must be completed prior to permit <br /> submittal. Include a copy of the final decision. <br /> 2. Two (2) sets of building plans that include site and landscape plans PLUS four <br /> (4) sets of civil engineering site development plans, bound separately. Scale of <br /> building, site, and landscape plans to be 1/8" = 1' minimum. Scale of civil plans <br /> to be 1" =40' minimum. <br /> 3. Maximum size of plan sets: 42" long, 30"wide (bound edge), 5/8"thick. Pages <br /> numerically organized in separate sets that are uniformly sized and stapled. <br /> 4. Minimum size: a measurable scale for review and legible for record. <br /> 5. One set storm water/drainage analysis, soils reports, engineering calculations, <br /> lighting budget, etc. <br /> 6. Completed Permit Application <br /> 7. Plan check fee <br /> 8. If mechanical, plumbing, and electrical or sprinkler plans are included—those <br /> permits require separate applications for plan review. <br /> CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Include a code data section on the coversheet to include the occupancy classifications, <br /> types of construction, occupant loads and building area justification. Identify if sprinkler <br /> system and/or fire alarm will be installed or updated, and list applicable codes at the <br /> time of application. <br /> B. Compliance with the International Existing Building Code path should be identified in the <br /> code analysis to be prescriptive, work area, or performance compliance method. <br /> Retroactive code requirements may be triggered, to include shaft enclosures, <br /> accessibility, seismic analysis, and energy code compliance. <br /> C. Architect's stamp (currently licensed to practice in the state of Washington)for all <br /> project sizes greater than 4,000 square feet or more than 4 dwelling units, or where life <br /> safety or structural systems are affected (RCW 18.08.410). <br /> D. Structural engineering stamp for significant structures (RCW 18.43.040). <br /> E. Foundation plans and details. <br /> F. Floor plan with complete dimensions. Indicate the proposed use of each space. Show <br /> all exit doors, stairs, corridors, etc. <br /> G. Building section with vertical dimensions and building construction details. <br /> H. Wall sections indicating proposed construction and assembly ratings as required for <br /> occupancy separation, area separation or building construction. <br /> I. All exterior elevations, indicating proposed materials, finish grade, and building height. <br /> J. Stair or ramp plans (1/4" = 1' minimum scale) and sections, guards, and handrails. <br /> K. Toilet room plans (1/4" = 1' minimum scale)and interior elevations, indicate wall and <br /> floor finishes, fixture dimensions, accessible hardware (if required)and toilet <br /> accessories. <br /> L. Schedules: door, window, room finish and hardware. <br /> M.
