Sheet A1.4 includes the design for the trash enclosure. The following comments should be <br /> addressed: See structural drawings for added information <br /> a. Structural calculations for the design of the enclosure, including the roof structure, should <br /> be submitted for review. See IBC Sections 1604.1, 1604.4, 1609.1, and 1613.1. <br /> b. Details for the column base anchorage and foundations for the roof shall be included in the <br /> drawings. The foundations shall be designed per IBC Section 1807.3. See IBC Sections <br /> 1603.1 and 1604.1. <br /> c. Details for the connections between the steel framing members of the roof shall be <br /> included in the drawings. See IBC 107.2.1. <br /> d. The roof appears to include a steel deck. Connection requirements shall be specified. See <br /> IBC Section 107.2.1. <br /> Structural <br /> General: <br /> 1. Structural and geotechnical special inspections are required for this project. Statements on <br /> special inspections are provided on Sheets SF1.0 and SO.0. The statements shall specify the <br /> extent of each inspection (e.g., continuous, periodic) per IBC Section 1704.3.1. The table shall <br /> include special requirements for seismic and wind resisting systems as required by IBC Sections <br /> 1704.3.2 and 1704.3.3, respectively. See IBC Sections 107.1, 1704.2.3 and 1704.3. See <br /> structural response letter <br /> 2. Geotechnical observations should be performed for this project as recommended in the <br /> geotechnical report by Terracon Consultants, Inc., dated January 25, 2018, on page 19. A list <br /> of the required geotechnical observations should be provided in the"Foundations" section of <br /> on Sheet SF1.0. See IBC Sections 107.1 and 107.2.1. The following is a summary based on a <br /> review of the construction drawings and the geotechnical report: See structural response letter <br /> a. Site grading (IBC Section 1804.4). <br /> b. Placement and compaction of structural backfill (IBC Section 1803.4). <br /> 3. The project includes work that will be performed on the premises of fabricators'shops. Special <br /> inspections are required to be performed by the fabricators unless they are registered and <br /> approved to perform work without special inspections. The Structural Notes and Specifications <br /> on Sheet SO.0 should be revised to list work being performed by approved fabricators. Work <br /> not being performed by approved fabricators should be added to the list of special inspections. <br /> See IBC Sections 1704.2.5, 1704.2.5.1, and Section 1704.5 Items 1 and 2. The following work <br /> shall be specified in the notes: See structural response letter <br /> a. Prefabricated structural steel members (IBC Section 1705.2). <br /> b. Prefabricated wood shear wall panels. <br /> c. Metal plate-connected wood trusses (IBC Sections 2303.4.6, and 2303.4.7). <br /> d.
