Contractor will be responsible for locking the gated entrances to the Biosolids <br /> Pad, Aeration Cells, and Allen Gate outside of working hours. Contractor City will <br /> not accept liability for damages, vandalism, theft, or other loss due to failure of <br /> Contractor to maintain site security. See Section 01 3553. <br /> C. The Contractor shall coordinate with City in scheduling operations to minimize <br /> conflict with concurrent construction projects, plant operations and maintenance <br /> activities. <br /> 1.6 DEWATERING CHEMICALS AND EQUIPMENT <br /> A. Net weight of dewatering agents to be used for this project, at both WPCF and <br /> the WFP, shall be submitted to the City's Project Manager upon delivery to the <br /> work site. Costs for dewatering agents shall be incidental to the unit cost per Dry <br /> Ton of biosolids or backwash solids treated. <br /> 1.7 BIOSOLIDS REMOVAL <br /> A. Biosolids Compatibility with Agricultural Uses <br /> 1. City intends to apply the biosolids removed from Aeration Cell #2 on <br /> farmland specifically selected and permitted for land application of <br /> biosolids. Biosolids quality must not be altered to be potentially toxic to <br /> plants, or by any means rendered unsuitable for agricultural utilization. <br /> 2. City will reject any and all applications for payment for Aeration Cell#2 <br /> rendered unsuitable for agricultural utilization. <br /> 3. Contractor agrees to dispose of recirculation channel biosolids rendered <br /> unsuitable for agricultural utilization at no expense to City. <br /> B. Biosolids Centrate Return and Effects on Wastewater Treatment <br /> 1. Contractor shall return Biosolids centrate to the wastewater treatment <br /> process stream using the 10-inch centrate return line. This line runs from <br /> the biosolids processing pad to the north end of Aeration Cell #1. <br /> 2. Contractor shall monitor and minimize any scum mat, foaming or other <br /> effects from dewatering chemical side-streams. Scum mats that form at the <br /> Recirculation Pump Station or the Aeration Cells in excess of 100 square <br /> feet in surface area shall be the responsibility of Contractor to collect and <br /> dispose of in dumpster(s) provided by the City for this purpose. Any costs <br /> of controlling, adjusting, or remediating effects of dewatering side-streams <br /> shall be incidental to the costs of dredging and dewatering. <br /> 00 7300 - 2 SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br />
