• <br /> January 13, 2021 <br /> • Appointment of Andrea DePaolo to Position 5 for remainder of a six- <br /> year term ending December 31, 2023 <br /> Council members thanked newly appointed board members for their willingness <br /> to serve the City and community. <br /> Council Member Bader expressed concern about the disproportionate number of <br /> appointments to applicants residing north of 41st Street. <br /> Mayor Franklin stated that all applicants were interviewed, and staff worked to <br /> ensure there was good geographic, ethic, racial, and life experience diversity. She <br /> noted that for some of the commissions, there was a struggle to get applicants <br /> from south Everett; however, staff will continue to recruit and make communities <br /> aware of opportunities. <br /> Council Member Murphy suggested that council members, during neighborhood <br /> visits as part of Council liaison assignments, could serve as ambassadors over the • <br /> next few months to raise the awareness about serving on boards and <br /> commissions. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Vogeli reported on her attendance at the Westmont Holly <br /> Neighborhood meeting last evening. <br /> Council Member Roberts expressed appreciation to Council Member Tuohy for <br /> the tremendous work she accomplished as Council President in 2020. He reported <br /> on his ongoing Climate Action Plan (CAP) work with Nick Harper and <br /> Kimberley Cline.
