Example — <br />"Floor P3, Column E". <br />14. All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or closets with standard <br />man door access. Locations shall be approved by the Fire Code Official (NFPA 13, 2013 edition, section <br />8.16.4.1.3). <br />15. The location of Fire Department connections (FDC) and post indicator valves (PIV) shall be determined by the <br />Fire Code Official. If immediate outside man door access is available to the sprinkler valves (risers), a PIV will <br />not be required. FDC can be placed on building. <br />16. Where elevators are provided in buildings, at least one elevator shall be provided for fire department <br />emergency access to all floors. The elevator car shall be of such a size and arrangement to accommodate a <br />24-inch by 84-inch ambulance stretcher in the horizontal, open position and shall be identified by the <br />international symbol for emergency medical services (star of life). However, <br />the existing District facilities in the local area may require upgrading. Any relocation or removal of District <br />facilities to accommodate this project shall be at the expense of the project developer.
