BL Company <br /> responses have been added in red to address each comment. <br /> Architectural <br /> Fire Protection: <br /> 1. Partial Plan 3/A1.02 specified two-hour walls for Electrical Room 3/A1.02. It appears the <br /> room construction is intended to satisfy the requirements of IBC Section 903.3.1.1.1 Item 3. <br /> The design intent for this area should be clarified. In addition, the following comments shall <br /> be addressed: <br /> a. The two-hour wall shown in Wall Type 11R, per Detail 2/G0.01, is a one-hour wall per <br /> the referenced listing with an additional layer of 5/8-inch GWB added to each side. This <br /> does not qualify as a two-hour wall. A listing for a tested assembly consistent with the <br /> proposed construction shall be referenced. See IBC Section 721.1. <br /> BL Response: UL Listing 404 — Configuration B has been provided on sheet G0.04. A note <br /> has been added to wall type "11R"on sheet G0.01, to refer to the added UL listing. <br /> b. The existing west wall does not appear to be two-hour construction and shall be <br /> modified. <br /> BL Response: A 2 hour rated shaft wall assembly has been added at Emergency Electrical <br /> 204 on A1.02. Wall type"10R" has been added to the wall types on G0.01. UL Listing 415 — <br /> Configuration B has been provided on sheets G0.05 and G0.06. <br /> c. Partial Plan 11/A2.02 shows the reflected ceiling plan for Room 3/A1.02, and references <br /> Section 7/A2.02 for the ceiling construction. The ceiling shall be two-hour construction. <br /> The Section shall include a listed for a rated assembly. See IBC Section 721.1. <br /> BL Response: Section detail 7/A2.02 has been revised to reflect 2-hour rated horizontal shaft <br /> assembly. UL Listing 415 — Configuration B has been referenced. <br /> d. Continuing with the previous comment, Detail 7/A2.02 provides conflicting information <br /> for the GWB, stating both 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch sheathing. The detail shall be revised. <br /> BL Response: Section detail 7/A2.02 has been revised to reflect 2-hour rated horizontal shaft <br /> assembly. UL Listing 415 — Configuration B has been referenced. <br />
