•
Egress:
2. The Egress Plan on Sheet G1.01 appears to show an area between Grids H.5-J/2.5-4.5 with
a common path of egress travel exceeding 100 feet. The barriers occurring in this area and
the resulting egress restrictions should be clarified. The common path shall be reduced.
Note that the multiple aisles provided in this area do not constitute multiple egress options
as they reconvene at the same location (i.e., the south end of the aisles. See IBC Section
1006.2.1 and Table 1006.2.1.
BL Response: Common path of travel paths have been added in the area of reference. An
opening in the protective guardrail has been created (indicated on G1.01) to reduce the
common path of travel distance.
3. Room 103 includes an A-3 occupancy. All doors providing egress from this space shall be
provided with panic hardware, including but not limited to Doors W002, 103, 103A,104, 101,
and W001. It is noted that while the Door Hardware Sets on Sheet A8.02 typically state
"always free egress" in the notes, this is not sufficient to clearly specify the requirement to
provide panic hardware. The drawings shall be revised. See IBC Section 1010.1.10.
BL Response: A note has been added to the floor plan on A1.02 stating that egress doors
from the break room are required to be provided with panic hardware. Door 103A hardware
set have been revised on A8.01 to provide panic hardware.
4. Door 103A provides egress from Room 103. The door swing shall be reversed to swing in
the direction of travel. It is noted that while this door may not be intended as one of the
primary egress doors, all doors from an assembly space shall comply with the requirements
for egress doors. See IBC Sections 1010.1 and 1010.1.2.1.
BL Response: The swing at door 103A has been reversed on sheet A1.02.
5. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies exit signs. The signs shall specify a minimum 90-
minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1013.6.3. See IBC Section 1013.1.
BL Response: A general note has been added to the ceiling plan notes stating the 90-minute
uninterrupted power supply requirement. The building is provided with a diesel-fired
generator to comply with NFPA 101 and NEC Article 700 life-safety emergency lighting
requirements. See E5.01 and E2.00 series electrical drawings for information on life-safety
power for egress lighting.
6. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies means-of-egress lighting. The lighting shall
specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1008.3.4.
7. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies lighting for the exterior landings. The lighting
shall specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1008.3.4.
See IBC Sections 1008.3.2 Item 5 and 1010.1.6.
