•
8. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies the location of exit signs. See IBC Section 1013.1.
The following comments shall be addressed:
a. The space includes tall storage racks and equipment that may obscure the visibility of
exit signs located directly above the doorways. The plan shall specify that the signage
at the doors will include both low and high exit signs to improve visibility. Notes and
additional exit signs will be added to the E2.00 series drawings to comply with this
requirement.
b. The interior exit signs indicate directions to exit doors that are blocked by fences or
other obstructions. Examples include, but are not limited to, the signs at Grids B.4/2.7,
C.7/3.3, E.4/3.3, and G.2/3.3. The location and directions for the exit signs shall be
revised. Additional signs shall be provided as needed to clearly indicate the locations of
and paths to the exits. Exit signs indicated in the comment are provided on the "green
mile"which is a clear path for personnel to travel. No obstructions are anticipated along
this path.
c. The exit sign at Grid C.7/3.3 directs occupants toward the exit located within Room 302.
An additional exit sign shall be provided outside Door 302. An additional exit sign will be
provided outside door 302 on E2.01.
d. The distance between exit signs appears to exceed 100 feet at multiple locations. The
sign layout shall be revised as needed. Notes and additional exit signs will be added to
the E2.00 series drawings to comply with this requirement.
Miscellaneous:
9. The partition sections on Sheet G0.03 indicate many of the partitions do not extend to the
roof deck above. A detail shall be included providing top-of-partition bracing. Calculations
shall be submitted review substantiating that the bracing is adequate for a minimum 5 psf
out-of-plane load on the partitions. See IBC Section 107.2.1, 1604.1, and 1607.14.
BL Response: Calculations and details will be provided by the general contractor's light
gauge metal framing sub-contractor as a deferred submittal.
10.The project includes CMU walls around the scrubber dump at Grid C.2/2.3, as shown in
Section 3/A4.02. See IBC Section 107.2.1. The following comments shall be addressed:
a. The vertical wall reinforcement for the walls appears to conflict, specifying bars at both
12-inch and 40-inch spacing.
BL Response: Refer to structural detail 2/S3.01 for all scrubber dump CMU reinforcing.
Section 3/A4.02 annotations have been revised to reference structural drawings. Vertical
reinforcing has been clarified on drawing S1.00.
b. The section should also specify hooks into the foundation as shown in Detail 2/S3.01.
BL Response: Refer to structural detail 2/S3.01 for all scrubber dump slab reinforcing.
Section 3/A4.02 annotations have been revised to reference structural drawings.
c. The type and size of the horizontal joint reinforcement shall be specified.
BL Response: Refer to structural detail 2/S3.01 for all scrubber dump CMU reinforcing.
Section 3/A4.02 annotations have been revised to reference structural drawings.
d. Section 3/A4.02 is not consistent with Detail 2/S3.01, showing a 1-foot extension of the
slab-on-grade versus no slab extension. The drawings shall be coordinated for
consistency.
BL Response: Scrubber dump sections on A4.02 have been revised to conform to the
structural detail 2/S3.01.
Structural
1. Structural special inspections are required for this project. A statement on special
inspections has not been provided and shall be submitted with the permit documents. The
