Partial Plan 3/A1.02 specified two-hour walls for Electrical Room 3/A1.02. It appears the room <br /> construction is intended to satisfy the requirements of IBC Section 903.3.1.1.1 Item 3. The <br /> design intent for this area should be clarified. In addition, the following comments shall be <br /> addressed: <br /> a. The two-hour wall shown in Wall Type 11R, per Detail 2/G0.01, is a one-hour wall per the <br /> referenced listing with an additional layer of 5/8-inch GWB added to each side. This does <br /> not qualify as a two-hour wall. A listing for a tested assembly consistent with the proposed <br /> construction shall be referenced. See IBC Section 721.1. <br /> b. The existing west wall does not appear to be two-hour construction and shall be modified. <br /> c. Partial Plan 11/A2.02 shows the reflected ceiling plan for Room 3/A1.02, and references <br /> Section 7/A2.02 for the ceiling construction. The ceiling shall be two-hour construction. <br /> The Section shall include a listed for a rated assembly. See IBC Section 721.1. <br /> d. Continuing with the previous comment, Detail 7/A2.02 provides conflicting information for <br /> the GWB, stating both 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch sheathing. The detail shall be revised. <br /> Egress: <br /> 2. The Egress Plan on Sheet G1.01 appears to show an area between Grids H.5-J/2.5-4.5 with a <br /> common path of egress travel exceeding 100 feet. The barriers occurring in this area and the <br /> resulting egress restrictions should be clarified. The common path shall be reduced. Note that <br /> the multiple aisles provided in this area do not constitute multiple egress options as they <br /> reconvene at the same location (i.e., the south end of the aisles. See IBC Section 1006.2.1 and <br /> Table 1006.2.1. <br /> 3. Room 103 includes an A-3 occupancy. All doors providing egress from this space shall be <br /> provided with panic hardware, including but not limited to Doors W002, 103, 103A,104, 101, <br /> and W001. It is noted that while the Door Hardware Sets on Sheet A8.02 typically state <br /> "always free egress"in the notes, this is not sufficient to clearly specify the requirement to <br /> provide panic hardware. The drawings shall be revised. See IBC Section 1010.1.10. <br /> 4. Door 103A provides egress from Room 103. The door swing shall be reversed to swing in the <br /> direction of travel. It is noted that while this door may not be intended as one of the primary <br /> egress doors, all doors from an assembly space shall comply with the requirements for egress <br /> doors. See IBC Sections 1010.1 and 1010.1.2.1. <br /> 5. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies exit signs. The signs shall specify a minimum 90- <br /> minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1013.6.3. See IBC Section 1013.1. <br /> 6. The Ceiling Plan on Sheet A2.01 specifies means-of-egress lighting.
