leXP-
TIJU
LALI 8AY
7NINFf
Proposal Summary
The Everett Fire Department and Tulalip Bay Fire Department (Snohomish County Fire District
#15) are public safety agencies that provide fire, medical, rescue, and other emergency (and
non -emergency) services to the residents and guests of our respective jurisdictions. We are
jointly submitting this application for the purpose of funding equipment and training to initiate
an unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or drone) program in each jurisdiction. The outcome of this
program is the ability for each agency to deliver airborne reconnaissance equipment and
trained pilots early in an incident. If a grant is received, funds will be spent to purchase two
large drones with both optical and thermal sensor capability, two small drones for training and
back-up capability, ground support and control equipment, batteries, and other equipment for
program startup. Additionally, two operators from each jurisdiction will participate in training
that includes pilot certification and the use of drones for public safety purposes.
