I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> I DIVISION 8 — MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION <br /> I <br /> 8-01 EROSION CONTROL <br /> 8-01.1 Description <br /> I Revise the first paragraph in 8-01.1 to read as follows: <br /> This Work consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, removing and disposing of high visibility <br /> construction fencing, and water pollution and erosion control items in accordance with the <br /> I Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions, as shown in the Plans, as shown on COE <br /> Standard Drawings, or as designated by the Engineer. <br /> 8-01.2 Materials <br /> I Supplement the list of materials in 8-01.2 as follows: <br /> Biodegradable Erosion Control Blanket 9-14.5(2) <br /> 8-01.3 Construction Requirements <br /> I 8-01.3(1) General <br /> Supplement 8-01.3(1) as follows: <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for all Work required for compliance with the <br /> I Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP) including annual permit fees. <br /> Delete the first through eighth paragraphs and substitute the following: <br /> The Contractor shall install a high visibility fence along the site preservation lines when <br /> I <br /> shown in the Plans or as instructed by the Engineer. <br /> Throughout the life of the project, the Contractor shall preserve and protect the delineated <br /> area, acting immediately to repair or restore any fencing damaged or removed. <br /> IControlling pollution, erosion, runoff, and related damage requires the Contractor to perform <br /> temporary Work items including but not limited to: <br /> Providing ditches, berms, culverts, and other measures to control surface water. <br /> II. <br /> 2. Building dams, settling basins, energy dissipaters, and other measures, to control <br /> downstream flows. <br /> I 3. Controlling underground water found during construction. <br /> 4. Covering or otherwise protecting slopes and stockpiles until permanent erosion- <br /> control measures are working. <br /> I To the degree possible, the Contractor shall coordinate this temporary Work with permanent <br /> drainage and erosion control Work the Contract requires. <br /> All sediment control devices including, but not limited to, sediment ponds, perimeter silt <br /> fencing, or other sediment trapping BMPs shall be installed prior to any ground disturbing <br /> Iactivity.
