1 <br /> ' CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> street cleaning is ordered. No separate payment will be made for water required for dust control <br /> and the normal operation of the pickup sweepers. <br /> Bid Item 5: Trench Excavation Safety Systems <br /> Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br /> Measurement for Trench Excavation Safety Systems will be based on the percentage of the work <br /> defined in this bid item that is completed at the time of measurement. <br /> ' The lump sum bid item includes the costs directly allocated to the safety system for trenches and <br /> all other excavations including, but not limited to, shoring, benching, bracing, excavation, sheeting, <br /> and trench box. This Work shall be accomplished in accordance with Divisions 1, 2, 7, and 8 of the <br /> ' Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. Payment per lump sum includes all <br /> equipment, materials, labor, installation,and removal, and all other work required to meet the trench <br /> excavation and safety system requirements. <br /> Bid Item 6: Erosion/Water Pollution Control and Site Preparation <br /> Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br /> Measurement for Erosion/Water Pollution Control and Site Preparation will be based on the <br /> percentage of the work defined in this bid item that is completed at the time of measurement. <br /> Erosion/Water Pollution Control, and Site Preparation shall constitute full compensation for all <br /> labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary and incidental for the installation, maintenance <br /> and removal of the temporary erosion and sedimentation control (TESC) facilities to prevent <br /> ' pollution, erosion, siltation, and damage to any wetland, stream, other watercourse, or surrounding <br /> property throughout the life of the Contract. TESC facilities shall include, but not be limited to, any <br /> cover measures, runoff control measures,soil and site stabilization measures, silt fencing as shown <br /> on the Plans, and inlet protection measures for the work area and downstream areas. <br /> The TESC measures shall limit the erosion possibility by covering disturbed soils, preventing <br /> sloughing or raveling of cut and natural slopes, and controlling surface runoff from flowing into <br /> excavations using measures such as curbs, berms, dikes, rock-lined ditches, and other approved <br /> ' measures. Filter fabric fence shall be used to treat small areas of non-concentrated runoff prior to <br /> discharge from the site. <br /> Site preparation shall include: Clearing and Grubbing, construction of a temporary driveway <br /> ' access to Lift Station #33, erection of temporary construction fence and gates. The City will <br /> perform closure of the pedestrian pathway per the Contractor's schedule. <br /> Bid Item 7: Dewatering <br /> Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br /> Measurement for dewatering will be based on the percentage of total Work complete, by dollar <br /> value, at the time of measurement. <br /> Payment for dewatering will be made at the measured percentage amount for the pay period times <br /> the lump sum amount bid. Said payment shall be complete compensation for a complete <br /> dewatering plan, all labor, materials, equipment including dewatering wells and pumps, trench <br /> sumps and pumps, discharge treatment and conveyance etc. required to complete this item of <br /> ' Work in conformance with Contract Documents. Geotechnical and groundwater information related <br /> to recent construction of sewer Lift Station #33 is presented in the Appendices. An existing <br /> dewatering well in the area of the work is available for the contractor to utilize.
