0
L A verification via engineering analysis that the existing walls that are
receiving the proposed new ledger and joists are sufficient to the carry the
new vertical and lateral loads. Please note if the existing dwelling's walls are
not intended to support the vertical loads of the deck replacement, please
provide details indicating that the replacement deck can independently carry
the design vertical loads by providing a direct load path to a foundation
without transferring through the existing residence's foundation. IRC
R301.1.3.This seems redundant and I've provided everything you've
asked for to meet compliance and clarity for inspection. The deck load
will be within IRC Table R507.2 via WA requirements. The replacement
deck is 2 feet less in depth off the home (192 sq feet and 8 feet out vs
240 sq feet and 10 feet out). The deck is much smaller than the existing
deck with 16" joist spacing vs the existing of 24" with tension brackets
and proper lagging.
