We previously prepared a geotechnical report for this project dated October
29, 2017.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
It is planned to develop the site with a 140-unit apartment building. The proposed
apartment building will include one level of below grade parking.
The below grade parking level will have a construction subgrade elevation of about 107
feet. Existing grades around the triangular -shaped site slope down from the south to the
north and east with surface elevations ranging from elevation 108 to 121 feet.
The building excavation will extend up to the property boundaries as a zero -lot line
excavation.
It is planned to use control density fill (CDF) to form a temporary shoring wall to support
the sides of the excavation during construction. Based on the results of the test borings
completed at the site, -the site is underlain by 2 '/2 to 5 feet of fill overlying Vashon till
comprised of medium dense to very dense silty sand with gravel. As such, it is our opinion
that a gravity wall constructed of CDF is appropriate.
3213 Eastlake .avenue, East, Suite B
Seattle, WA 98102
1e
!
-r.
