In order to determine the codes that apply to a use,we first classify the building based on the'best fit'. Permitting agencies are not necessarily experts of the proposed operations,we are experts at applying the codes that apply to the proposed operations.The architectural community is a big help in situations where a use could fit into different possible categories. Based on my understanding of the use at 1706 Broadway the following is my determination for the occupancy classification. Custodial care includes persons receiving care who have the ability to respond to emergency situations and evacuate at a slower rate and/or who have mental and psychiatric complications. Medical care. Care involving medical or surgical procedures, nursing or for psychiatric purposes. PERMIT SERVICES Foster care facilities.
