Yes the intent is using Exception 3 to Section
717.5.2 with minimum 26 gauge hard ductwork to comply, no flex ducts at terminals or in those ducts.
Audie Wallace
Project Director
p 206.832.8019 1 c 206.930.0436
McKinstry
Consulting I Construction I Energy I Facility Services
www.mckinstry.com
From: Tony Lee <TLee@everettwa.gov>
Sent: Tuesday, March 19, 2019 10:12 AM
To: Audie Wallace <audiew@McKinstry.com>
Cc: 'holly.shoubridge@mortenson.com' <holly.shoubridge@mortenson.com>
Subject: Providence 9th floor mechanical review B1903-002
Hello Mr. Wallace —
I have just one comment regarding the plan review for Providence —
There are some ducts that penetrate one -hour fire barriers surrounding Clean Rooms A9055 and C9156 that are not
provided with fire dampers and have flexible connections to their (outlet or inlet) terminals at some point along the
trunk line (outside of the clean rooms in question). I believe the design intent is to employ Exception 3 to Section 717.5.2
however that exception requires continuous No. 26 gage ductwork with no flexible ducts or terminal connections. Please
clarify.
I believe this email to be more expedient than a formal letter for just one comment. Let me know if I can answer any
further questions. Thank you, Tony
0
Tony Lee
Building Official I Permit Services
425.257.8812 13200 Cedar Street, 2d Floor, Everett, WA 98201
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note: Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
C
