Soil borings and other geotechnical information related to the shoring wall design, listing soil loads, deflection calcs etc.
2. Confirmation that the piles will be installed in pre -drilled holes —not driven or vibrated. Revise note 7. Hammer -driven
or vibrated pile installation could harm the pipe.
3. Clarify note 11(describes shoring removal) that conflicts with other information (meeting) that the wall would be
abandoned in place. Jacobs recommendation is to abandon wall in place — OK to remove wall to depth of about 8 feet
(above sewer).
4. Pothole for sewer location — locate outside of the pipe surface facing the wall and confirm separation distance at 25 ft
spacing. If sewer has sand or pea gravel bedding, there needs to be onsite monitoring of the auger drilled holes (in the
pipe zone, 10 to 16 feet deep) to confirm the pipe bedding is not disturbed.
5. Describe what construction oversight will be furnished to confirm the work is proceeding in accordance with the
geotechnical recommendations, engineers plans and specifications.
Also, City should conduct pre -construction CCTV of the sewer pipe and identify any existing structural defects (cracks,
displaced joints, deflections etc.).
That's about it...
Dave
David Voigt, P.E.
Senior Engineer I Public Works
425.257.8983 13200 Cedar Street, Everett, WA 98201
everettwa.eov/publicworks I Facebook I Twitter
Note: Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
From: Dave Voigt
Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2019 2:46 PM
To: Daniel Buonadonna PE (Daniel.buonadonna@jacobs.com) <Daniel.buonadonna@jacobs.com>
1/
