The construction of the storerooms that are accessed via the unit decks should be shown <br />on the plans: <br />a. Load bearing walls should be minimum one -hour construction. Section 602.1 <br />b. The floor/ceiling assemblies should minimum one -hour construction. 602.1 <br />8. IMC Section 403.8.5 <br />Egress <br />1. Per Section 1019.3, the exterior exit stairs serving this four-story building should be shown <br />to comply with Section 713: <br />a. The walls separating the stairways from the dwelling units should be shown as <br />minimum two-hour fire barriers. Sections 713.4 & 1027.6 <br />b. The stairways include landings. On the first floor, the stairways/landings adjoin the <br />deck storage units on two sides. The two-hour fire separation should be shown <br />between the landings and storage units and to continue horizontally to the edge <br />of the roof. Section 1027.6 <br />c. The first story deck and storage units adjacent to the stair landings are less than <br />180 degrees from the stairs/covered landings. Minimum one -hour walls should <br />extend for a minimum of 10 feet from the landings. Openings within the walls <br />should be shown with minimum 3/4-hour opening protection. Sections 1027.6 & <br />1023.7 <br />2. The openings between the stairway treads should be shown to be less than 4". Section <br />1011.5.5.3 <br />3. The stair handrails that are not continuous between runs should be shown to return to a <br />wall, guard or the walking surface. Section 1014.6 <br />Accessibility/ANSI A117.1 <br />1.
